Someday everyone, or practically everyone, everyone sensible, will see this as so incredibly strange. Treating anyone as unequal, as less than a person under the law, because of sexual orientation, treating anyone of legal age as ineligible for a marriage contract with one's eligible, legal-age, chosen partner, will be as unthinkable and as clearly intolerable as slavery is to us, today. Illegal, unconstitutional, ridiculous, medieval, and how is this STILL an issue in the US in 2008 CE?

I have never seen this absurd discrimination as anything BUT unconstitutional, since it first came up. And if it's SO screamingly, stuff-throwingly, sky-rendingly obvious to me... come on, who's kidding whom? It's unconstitutional. We know it, they know it. And we know that they know, and they know that we know. And it's awfully creepy, IMO, that we're STILL supposed to keep a straight face and consider this legally debatable. A person is a person. Period, paragraph, duh.
